From My Hands to Yours

From My Hands to Yours

Honestly, soap making started because I needed Christmas presents.

My boyfriend Glenn has a HUGE family, and there was just no way I could afford to buy gifts for everyone. So, for Christmas, we decided to try making melt-and-pour soaps as handmade gifts. Glenn and my daughter both helped make them, and surprisingly… everyone loved them.

After Christmas, Glenn had the idea that we should try making real old-fashioned soap from scratch — the kind made with lye, natural oils, and butters instead of premade bases. I remembered how much he loved buying handcrafted soaps from little boutiques and how good they always felt on the skin. I had used his a few times myself and thought, “Honestly… why not try it?”

Well… Glenn quickly realized he created a monster. 😂

What started as curiosity turned into a full-blown obsession. Once I started learning about soap making, I couldn’t stop. I became fascinated with how different oils and butters change the feel of a bar, which ingredients create the best lather, what fragrances actually survive the curing process, and how every tiny change affects the final product.

And then came the swirls.

I cannot even explain the excitement the first time I finally figured out how to get beautiful swirls in my soap instead of just dumping colors into a mold and hoping for the best. The first time I cut into a loaf and saw the design inside, I was hooked even more than before. Every batch became a challenge to create something prettier, smoother, better, and more unique than the last.

Anything I do, I put my whole heart into. But this is different. I’ve never found something that combines creativity, science, passion, and artistry quite like soap making does for me.

Even while working a full-time job 45–50 hours a week, I still find time to make batches whenever I can — late nights, weekends, whenever inspiration hits. That’s how much I love doing this.

Every bar I make is handcrafted in small batches with care, testing, and a whole lot of passion behind it. I truly hope people enjoy using my soaps as much as I enjoy creating them.

And I always want feedback. I love hearing what people think, what scents they’d like to see next, and what I can continue improving as I grow.
